WHY YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY VISIT KNYSNA DURING WINTER IN PARADISE

Winter is here. But it is not the time to simply curl up under a blankie on the couch to binge-watch. No, life is short and there is so much to see and do in the Greater Knysna region during the winter

Book your stay at 6 On Protea where you have the views, delicious breakfast in the dining area with the fire crackling and keeping you warm!!

THINGS TO DO

  • The whales are here

On top of the list of reasons to visit Knysna during winter is that the ocean adjacent to our coastline is a travelling whale highway during winter. The two whale species – the southern right whale and humpback whale – will be Journeying past our coastline in numbers throughout the winter and right into spring time. Book a cruise through the Knysna Heads and into the Miraculous Indian Ocean for close encounters with these leviathans of the deep. Not only will you see whales, but dolphins, seals, penguins, and a host of pelagic and seabirds.

  • Low season means better rates!

There are great deals on all types of accommodation and adventure packages during the low season, so make your way to paradise. Winter is also a good time to beat the crowds. Think long walks on never-ending beaches with only a few souls in sight on the rare sunny winter day.

  • Winter Sunsets.

The fiery winter sunsets of the Garden Route are spectacular. The sky’s winter artistry serves to make the region’s picturesque landscapes even more beautiful than they already are. So whether you are a photographer or just a love sunsets, Knysna is the place to be during winter.
